"Loving Tears & Wrinkly Hands" // A Jessica + Ray Vignette

From the moment I walked into the bridal suite when we arrived on the wedding day, I knew it was going to be a crazy happy day. Jess was PUMPED. All. Day. I mean.. we’ve seen our fair share of happy brides, but Jess was literally the most excited bride I’ve ever encountered. And Ray was right there with her. Both of them were obviously the best of friends, and it was so fun to watch the day unfold, and witness their unique way of expressing their affection for each other.

As we got to know the 2 of them leading up to the wedding day, their love for Detroit was evident, specifically the parts of Detroit that are less obvious. Their apartment with no air conditioning, their weird neighbors playing weird instruments, the little cafes and restaurants – Detroit to them seemed to be about finding beauty in the small things. Joy was evident in their story. Jess shared with me she wanted the video to display “pure joy”.  To me, that was pretty easy. We didn’t really have to fake joy, that’s for sure. It was these 2 major story elements that we really aimed to capture in their vignette, and we hope you are as inspired by them and their love as we are.
